KTM Molds - Custom Soft & Hard Plastic Fishing Lure Manufacturer

Custom Soft & Hard
Plastic Fishing Lure
Manufacturer

From P20 Tooling to Finished, Packed Export

KTM builds production-grade fishing lures for brands, not retail tackle. We tool and mold ABS hard baits and TPE/TPU soft plastic fishing lures, then carry the work through injection, painting, hook sourcing, and export packing. You can come to us three ways — buy the mold, keep it here for production, or hand off the whole program from CAD file to labeled carton. Send a drawing and you deal with one factory, engineer to engineer.

Our engineers are on duty until 20:00 to cover time zones. Direct engineer-to-engineer communication, no intermediaries.

Three Ways We Build
Your Lures

Pick the model that matches how you produce. Every path runs through the same tooling standards and the same engineering team, so quality holds no matter where production lands.

Mold Export
01

Mold Export

We cut soft and hard fishing lure molds in the steel your program needs: aluminum, P20, or H13 for high volume. Tools ship sampled and dimension-checked, ready to run on your own floor.

Mold + Injection Production
02

Mold + Injection Production

Keep the tool here and we run the parts. Injection molding soft plastic fishing lures in TPE/TPU, or ABS hard baits, on presses dedicated to your tool — no machine investment on your end.

Full-Service
03

Full-Service — Finished, Painted & Packed

Design, molding, painting, hook sourcing, and export packing under one PO, from your CAD file to a labeled carton.

Which materials you run decides how the part performs. Here is how ABS and TPE/TPU behave in the water.

Materials & Processes
for Soft and Hard Plastic Lures

Your bait's action and durability start with the resin. We mold both families daily, so you can run a hard line and a soft line through one supplier instead of two.

ABS Hard Baits

ABS is the standard for mass-produced hard plastic fishing lures — crankbaits, jerkbaits, topwater bodies — chosen for impact resistance and clean detail. We run clear ABS most often. PC is available when you need higher shatter resistance for saltwater work, and we can mold to a resin you specify. Two-shot tooling forms body and lip, or two colors, in a single cycle.

TPE / TPU Soft Baits (Fluorescent-Ready)

For soft plastic fishing lures — worms, swimbaits, craws — we mold TPE and TPU. Both stretch, hold fine detail, and survive repeated strikes. Fluorescent pigment blends into the melt to lift visibility in stained water. Gas-assist tooling handles thick or hollow sections without sink.

ABS, TPE, and TPU are what we run most — not the limit. PC or a customer-specified resin works the same way, and mold steel follows the same logic: matched to your volume, not fixed to one grade.

The steel behind both materials sets how many parts you sell before the tool gives out — which is where aluminum and P20 part ways.

Aluminum Hobby Molds
vs. P20 Production Molds

Both have a place. The right call depends on whether you pour for yourself or build a brand that ships volume.

Hobby

Hobby Aluminum Molds

Hobby aluminum molds suit DIY pourers running small batches. P20 steel molds suit brands running production — and P20 is what we cut. Lure bodies are geometrically simple and run in multi-cavity tools, so P20 comfortably reaches several hundred thousand parts before the tool needs attention. When a program runs into the millions, we step up to hardened H13 or S136 rather than overspending on steel you don't need.

Production

P20 Production (KTM)

P20 steel molds suit brands running production — and P20 is what we cut. This is why brands ordering soft plastic fishing lure molds for production specify P20 over aluminum: the tool outlasts the launch and parts stay identical from the first shot to the last.

A lure program is more than a mold. Here is the full path from drawing to export carton.

Single-Supplier Service: From Product Design to
Finished, Painted & Packed Lures

You stop coordinating five vendors when one factory owns every step from CAD file to packed export carton. We run the full fishing-lure supply chain in house, so your project moves from sketch to shipment without handoffs between a mold shop, a molder, and an outside paint line. Each stage hands the next a documented output, which is how dimensions and finish stay consistent across repeat orders.

Because every stage sits under one roof, scaling to bulk soft plastic fishing lures or hard plastic fishing lures in bulk runs on a single purchase order and one point of contact.

One supplier, from CAD file to painted, packed export carton — stop coordinating five vendors.

The next question most engineers ask is whether the floor behind this service can hold tolerance at volume.

One file in, packed cartons out. Send your lure drawing and we'll quote the full path — tooling, molding, painting, and export packing — on a single PO. No vendor juggling.

Every machine feeds a traceable quality system, so a flagged dimension routes back to its shot record rather than a guess. With your tooling we deliver a defined document set: DFM analysis, Moldflow on complex parts, trial-shot reports, CMM dimensional reports, and material certifications.

That file package is what lets your engineers approve a mold remotely instead of flying out to witness a trial.

Equipment proves capacity. Brands stay for a decade for reasons no machine list covers.

Why Brands Stay
With Us 10+ Years

The risk you carry with overseas tooling is rarely the machine. It is the silence after a problem, the invoice that grows mid-project, the supplier who blames the drawing. We removed those four failure points, which is why several clients have stayed 10 to 15 years.

Does the owner understand tooling?

Founder holds a mold design and manufacturing degree, 20+ years on the technical floor.

Will the price change later?

Quotes are itemized — no hidden fees, no mid-project add-ons unless you revise the drawing or product spec.

Will communication stall?

Engineers handle your project directly, on duty until 20:00 to cover time zones.

Who owns the mold and IP?

Tooling and IP stay yours, under NDA.

Global Export Reach

Among plastic fishing lure manufacturers working from China, this is the difference that holds long programs together: a technical founder solving problems on the line, not a sales rep forwarding messages.

We export to the United States, Mexico, Canada, Costa Rica, and across Europe — the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Scandinavia.

If your questions are more technical — material specs, mold life, or MOQ — the answers are below.

Fishing Lure
Manufacturing FAQ

It depends on the bait. For soft lures like worms and swimbaits we run TPE and TPU — durable, stretchy, buoyant, with fluorescent powder on request. For hard baits like crankbaits and jerkbaits, ABS is the standard: it molds cleanly, holds impact, and finishes well under paint. Most clients run clear ABS; PC or a customer-specified resin is available when needed.

ABS is rigid and holds a fixed shape — right for hard bodies that need structure and a paintable surface. TPE and TPU stay flexible, so the tail moves in water and survives repeated strikes without tearing. The two material families are not tooled or processed the same way.

A P20 steel mold runs several hundred thousand shots for typical lure geometry. For millions-part programs we tool in hardened H13 or S136. Aluminum suits low-volume DIY pouring; P20 suits brands running ongoing production, where dimensional stability matters across the full run.

MOQ depends on the lure and cavity layout — share your drawing and we'll confirm exact numbers. Sampling follows mold trials, and you receive a dimensional report before mass production starts.

Yes. We sign an NDA before reviewing files. The mold belongs to you, and your design stays confidential.

Yes. We cover injection, painting, hook sourcing, and packaging through to export carton, so you brief one supplier instead of five.
